Success! Our Best Spring Carnival ever!

2016 Spring Carnival Broadview Coop Preschool

Our Annual Spring Carnival funds scholarships for families in need to attend Broadview CoOp Preschool, and this year was our best year to date in fundraising. We have so many people to thank, starting with our fabulous volunteer team who organized the carnival itself: Jennifer, Laura, Ashley and Trisha. Thank you parents for all your work in making our carnival the best yet!

Our silent auction and raffle were particularly amazing this year, with items from local businesses and families that were fun and exciting. Everything from food gift certificates, to sports games to summer time activities, we had it all. Thank you for everyone who won their items – we hope you enjoy them!

Thank you to all these amazing local sponsors and families who helped make the carnival great!

The Seattle Biscuit Truck had a line as long as the carnival itself, and everyone enjoyed delicious biscuit sandwiches. The food was delicious! We are appreciative you came to support the Broadview community! The music was also fun and lively. Thank you for delighting us all with great sounds (even the littles joined in for a bit.)

Broadview Co-Op Pre3’s visit Swanson’s Nursery

Teacher Charlotte led her Pre 3 class to our local garden center Swanson’s Nursery.

Each year, Swanson’s celebrates the holidays with long time friends Blitzen and Dasher, as well as Curly the camel. They also have a winter village on display with model trains and fun details (is that Godzilla on the Christmas train or a T-Rex?) that have our children giggling with delight.

Our class was very lucky to get a tour of the nursery. The children got to use all their senses exploring the wonderful scents and exciting textures of winter in Seattle.

Thank you to Swanson’s for a fun adventure! We can’t wait to see you again next year. Happy Holidays from Broadview Co-Op!

Open House!

Join Us at Broadview Co-op Preschool’s Open House!

Broadview Co-op Preschool is hosting an Open House for families with children 1 to 5 years old. We’ll have fun and engaging activities for children and their families. Refreshments will be served.

Saturday, January 31st, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Teachers Charlotte Wallstrom and Ricci Kilmer will be on hand to lead activities, answer questions, and tour families around our classroom. It’s also a great chance to meet current co-op families and learn about their experiences, too.

What’s Co-op?
A Cooperative Preschool, or Co-op, provides quality, early childhood education and parent support for families with children from infancy to Pre-Kindergarten.

Co-ops offer a community of support and education for children and their families. They differ from traditional preschools in that they’re lead by an experienced preschool teacher in conjunction with parents, and in partnership with certified Parent Educators from North Seattle College.

Broadview Co-op Preschool offers engaging early learning opportunities, accredited parent education, and family support for families in Broadview and beyond.

Fall Harvest Social!

The start of the school year quickly fades from summer to fall, and at Broadview we are enjoying the change in season. We don’t let a little rain get in our way of playing outdoors.

Broadview Co Op Preschool Seattle

Stories and classroom play focus on the natural world around us, and involve children in learning through story and song.

Teacher Ricci Broadview CoOp Preschool

Teachers Charlotte and Teacher Ricci do their best in all three classes to let discovery and learning happen organically. Below in the 3-5’s group students are learning from flowers picked and brought indoors from Teacher Ricci’s own yard.

Broadview CoOp Preschool

We will be celebrating our wonderful preschool at the Fall Harvest Social. All families of students are invited to attend. Come celebrate the season at Broadview Co-Op Preschool.

Join Us for a Pre-3 Open House at Broadview Co-op Preschool!

Good News — the Pre-3 class is returning to Broadview Co-op Preschool!
If you have a child between the ages of 2 (as of August 31st, 2013) and 3 (as of August 31st, 2014), this is the program for you!  The Pre-3 program offers a rich, fun-filled environment for your child, and an opportunity to build community and take part in valuable parent education for you. We meet twice a week on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9:30 until 11:30.
Parents work in the classroom one day a week and we offer a wide range of developmental activities and nurture the slow separation that helps children feel secure on the day their parent is not in the classroom.
Classes begin January 10, 2014. Cost is $93.25 a month. (Parent education cost TBA.)
Please plan on joining us on November 12, 2013 between 9:30 and 11:30 am for an Open House play date! Please RSVP for this event at: wallstrom@comcast.net or 206-782-0616, or contact us if you are interested in joining us in January!
